Whether you are a Virtual Assistant (VA) or are looking to hire a Virtual Assistant, one tool you will most definitely want is a password management software program. Have you ever considered using a Password Manager? Do you ever heard of a Password Manager? Why do I think it is a MUST HAVE for any business owner? Not only do I think that business owners who have a team and need to securely share a password should use one, but ANY business owner really. Let’s take a look at what a Password Manager is and why you definitely need one in your business.
A password management software program is a tool that business owners can use to not only save all of your passwords, but you can also use this tool to safely share your passwords with members of your team without having to, well, share your password.
This is a must have- whether or not you are a Virtual Assistant or are looking to outsource some tasks to a VA.
IN this digital age we live in, there are so many passwords that we need to remember. You may be tempted to keep the same password for everything (or almost everything), but there are also many people who want to steal personal information from you and that is much easier to do if you happen to have the same password for all or even many of the things you do online. A password manager can help to create more security across all of your online accounts by creating different passwords for each website you visit that requires a password. The good news is, you don’t have to remember every single password (or sacrifice your security by using the same password for many, or all, of your accounts. By using a password manager, you’ll only ever need to remember one password. That’s right- just ONE! This is referred to by many password management software programs as a “Master Password”.
This is really going to depend on what exactly you are looking for when you are looking for a password manager. There are a few different options out there, and I absolutely encourage you to do your research when you are looking into start using a password manager, but I wanted to talk specifically about the one I use and love. The password manager that I use for not only all of my business accounts, but also many of my personal accounts, is called LastPass.
I would absolutely argue that this is a must have in your business- no matter what business you are in. I encourage you to come to your own conclusions and to figure out what works best for you and your business.
The fact that many Password Managers have both a free and a paid option makes it even easier to at least jump in and give it a try- at the very least. By using the free option, it won’t cost you a dime to give a password manager like LastPass a try.
Do you currently use a Password Manager? I would love to hear which one is your favorite!
